Create and run the React and Vite starter

Requirements

• Node.js 22 or newer
• A supported package manager; the source starter commits an npm lockfile
• A modern browser

Create the application

Install the CLI, then initialize a web project:

npm install --global form0-cli
form0 init my-form-app

Choose Web app and React + Vite when prompted. Enter the generated directory, install its dependencies if the selected flow has not already done so, and start the application:

npm install
npm run dev

Open the URL printed by Vite, normally http://localhost:5173. The home page lists the included example forms and their page and overlay presentations.

Run with form0-cli

From the project directory, form0 serve --app starts the configured application server alongside the CLI development server. Use this mode when you want the starter's default submission handler to reach locally configured connectors.
